The Browns Might Want Nate Solder; But Do the Giants Feel Like Making a Deal?

The Giants are going nowhere fast in 2019, and there’s been plenty of rumors and speculation on what the team may do when the NFL trade deadline hits next week.

The team already spent much of the offseason shipping talent elsewhere, like the trade that no one saw coming moving Odell Beckham Jr. to the Cleveland Browns.

As the team gets ready for Sunday, make sure and get the betrivers promo code so you can put some juice on the Giants who are 6 and a half point underdogs in Detroit against the Lions.

Back to the trade chatter, there was talk on Wednesday that The Browns, a team that the Giants have already made two deals with in 2019, might be in the mix for another Giants player.

That player is none other than Giants offensive tackle Nate Solder, who is making a boat load of money, and a player that likely the Giants could afford to get off their roster with the season already done in terms of playing into January.

Solder signed a four-year, $62 million contract with the Giants with $35 million guaranteed back in March of 2018, which at the time made him the highest-paid offensive lineman in the league.

The question is what could the Giants potentially get in return for a player like Solder, who the Browns really could use to plug up an offensive line that has been terrible for the most part in 2019.

There is not much of a chance that the Browns would be willing to give up a first-round pick, but to think that they could get a second and maybe a fifth or sixth round pick might not be completely out of the question.

It would be something if the Browns and Giants did yet another deal, their third in less than a year.

The first deal was when the Giants gave up pass rusher Olivier Vernon in exchange for offensive guard Kevin Zeitler, a player who has played great football this season for the G-Men.

The next deal for the Giants and Browns took place in March, who the Giants were willing to part ways with one of their all-time best, moving all-world wide receiver Beckham Jr. to the Browns for a package that included draft picks and safety Jabril Peppers.

Peppers has been solid, and Beckham hasn’t done quite as much as many felt he would when he came to Cleveland with his buddy Jarvis Landry and former first-round pick Baker Mayfield throwing him the ball.

The two sides have a week to get a deal done if that’s the direction both want to go in. At this point nothing would be a surprise.
